Hangover Formuoli

I still love boozin’ & cruisin’ but after 4 years of Penn State and a few YOLO years in Florida, I cherish my optimized mind body and soul state with divinity now. Those alcohol consumption habits were severely poisonous to the body and brain. Cheers to those times; our human biology is resilient <3

At it’s core, the current Hangover Formuoli is:

  • Wise selection, dosage & timing of drinks

    • Dial in YOUR ultimate max quantity alcohol consumed to maintain an enhanced Tomorrow. Dial in your sweet spot quantity for the best drunk but best tomorrow (1-4 range). Bill Burr explained my current personal favorite: the slow incline like a commercial jet flight. Do yourself a solid with a legitimate decline before bed per the information below!

    • Minimum sugar and high quality ingredients all night then the last drink being at least 3 hours before bed (per Dr. Peter Attia and more).

      • Does this mean day drinking is superior? I really love my evenings sips and stopping at sunset.

    • 1 drink a night every day of the week is overall much less toxic than 7 drinks in one night (per Dr. Peter Attia and more).

  • Hydrating foods during the day / evening with plenty of water. Electrolytes the next morning (usually with organic stevia / monk fruit not bad sugar or bad sugar alcs). Fermented foods like sauerkraut (loaded with sodium as well to replenish!) or kefir to rebalance gut bacteria in the AM with a healthy breakfast (eggs, avocado, pumpkin seeds/spinach, and sauerkraut/kimchi is a GOAT’d multi-electrolyte and bacteria replenishing breakfast). A large avocado with healthy salt alone is a super sodium potassium pump.

  • Cheers supplement and/or activated charcoal per the timing below. You can also skip the Cheers supplement and solely follow the activated charcoal capsules timing. It’s less complicating but not as effective for sleep quality.

Hydration is pertinent! However the real absorption (and thus recovery) happens in your gut and liver. 20% of alcohol is absorbed in the stomach, 80% in the intestine. Peak alcohol absorption hits ~60 mins after drinking ends.

Activated charcoal binds to toxins — but only in your gut, not bloodstream. Timing has to be fairly precise. You want to take an activated charcoal capsule (bring in a baggy) after each of the first 2 drinks (within the first hour or so of boozin’) so it can bind to toxins ASAP. Charcoal’s peak effectiveness window is about 60-90 minutes after ingesting.

Don’t worry - you still get drunk af!

So the charcoal protects gut lining early, and the Cheers Restore enhances liver detox later. Timing is everything. If you’re mixing the two, take the standard 3 capsules of the Cheers supplement (DHM, electrolytes, B-vitamins) shortly after your last drink and ensure it is at least 2 hours after the last charcoal.

This article by LMNT is is an exceptional write-up on electrolyte-rich foods we can ingest NATURALLY.

My personal favorite hydrating food is a cacao avocado chilled mash with black lava salt! Add some hand-crushed walnuts, pumpkin seeds and/or hemp hearts and you got yourself a fine snackypoo with Na, K, Mg!
